Vinegar Effectively Lowers Blood Cholesterol Levels, Mizkan Confirms

We've known of the benefits of red wine for some time and now we learn that vinegar lowers our cholesterol levels as well. Now my question would be is there a collective benefit derived from using red wine vinegar?

Tokyo (JCNN) - Mizkan, a Japanese food manufacturer known for its vinegar products, announced on May 16 the results of the latest research on vinegar.

The company's recent trials on human beings found that a regular intake of vinegar, 15ml or more per day, can significantly lower the level of cholesterol in the blood. A major ingredient of vinegar, acetic acid has induced the effect.

Details of the research results were presented at the 59th Annual Meeting for the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science.
